“The Wedding Cake...The Bride As Is...”
“Marriage has become nowadays a desirable and structured institution not only for heterosexual couples but also for gay and lesbians. Nowadays everybody with no distinction of sexual orientation can access to this type of contract. Because marriage is a life contracts that one way or the other, creates definite changes in our lives. I created this performance as a parody for marriage, and to emphasize not only the bright side of marriage but also its undesirable and unfortunate consequences many times full of grief and disenchantment. I dress as a bride in a wishful mood and full of hopes and expectations as any bride could or should be. I start to treat the public with my own “wedding” cake and to “marry” them with gold rings, no matter if they are same-sex “marriages” or heterosexual “marriages”. I intend to create a hilarious situation where people having fun or in shock, and participating in a theatrical parody, contact their own feelings about marriage, love and family.
At the end of the performance the “bride”, tired and exhausted, stays alone. The groom did not showed up...”

ABOUT ANDREINA FUENTES and HARDCORE ART CONTEMPORARY SPACE
As an individual who assumes the different roles of gallery director, editor, producer, curator, museologist, project coordinator, photographer and artist, I am able to touch upon many fields and cover different experiences that allow me to have a broader view on the social issue of art. Hardcore Contemporary Art is about art and social activism, its about my self.
Countries with rich cultural heritage, such as Latin-American as well as the Asian region, are amongst the more fortunate, when it comes to reckoning the achievements in the fields of contemporary art, this culture has not always been treated and dealt with in an appropriate manner, particularly as we approach the new millennium.
I strongly believe that the integration of the existing cultural sources with the digital arts and new technical systems can produce an intense, interesting, evolutionary and above all productive merge that could give rise to a new tendency in the fields of Art, science, culture, and the economy. The fact is that without investigation, investment, and renovation in the traditional policies there is no novelty; without novelty there is no market; without market there is no supply or demand. Hardcore Contemporary Art takes hold that blocks practically all growth as well as reflection and creativity. With investigation, impetus is given in all directions, not only to the market and the economic well being but to culture as well is Hardcore.
We could do well to imagine that without investigation and evolution we could be converted into a monothematic society, completely brainless, without objective and renovation, empty, dry, and dead.
My interest in the field of new media lays in the creation of new forms o f Art, interactive installations, and evolution of the media towards integrated Art forms and become a truly flourishing attractive on for the visitors, clients, collectors and cultural institutions. This would consequently bring more life to the cultural activity, as well as bring economic benefit to the city of Miami and the country as a whole.
