3 Solo Show
Laura Lima’s show puts forward a vast body of work. She proposes performances as ‘Live Sculptures’ or “tableaux vivants” connoting the ceremonial importance of the body and the fugitive essence of the act. Iconic paintings of the History of Western Art serve as background for her small format bi-dimensional drawings. Intervened by profuse gold inked arabesques they deconstruct the History of Painting and re-invent new signs and subliminal meanings. Lima’s diverse creativity communicates the deepest grounds of humanity at all levels.
Andres Michelena’s exhibit challenges epitaph phrases in ancient biblical and other religious texts. Using the Oops! custom, he raises objection on divine laws, their internal linguistic contradictions and their paradoxes, the nature of God and divine wisdom.
Claude Genard’s workgenerates dazzling images through provocation and eroticism. His pieces are intervened, graffiti-like drawings with wild, politically charged scenes portraying confrontational sexual imagery that reveals the powerful libidinal subconscious force of human beings.
